Choose cable tie length from the bundle: circumference (diameter × 3.14) plus at least 25% for the tail. Choose width from the job: 2.0–2.5 mm light, 3.6 mm standard panel work, 4.8 mm medium-heavy, 8.0–9.0 mm heavy. The chart below applies this rule to all 31 sizes VAV Plastik stocks.

Tensile strength differs between manufacturers and batches. Catalogues of branded manufacturers publish minimum tensile values by width; those are that manufacturer's declarations, not a property of every nylon tie of the same size. If your specification sets a minimum tensile value, ask us for the manufacturer's data sheet for the batch you would receive before you order.

Measure the bundle diameter, multiply by 3.14 to get the circumference, then add at least 25% so the tail can pass through the head and be gripped. A 50 mm bundle has a circumference of about 157 mm, so a 200 mm tie is the minimum and 250 mm is more comfortable.
Width sets the duty class. 2.0–2.5 mm for light electronics work, 3.6 mm for panels and indoor installation, 4.8 mm for cable trays and heavier bundles, 8.0–9.0 mm for very thick bundles and pipes.
No. Cable ties are for bundling. Their tensile rating is the force at which the tie breaks, not a safe working load. Use purpose-made fixings for anything that hangs or carries weight.
No. A tie much longer than needed wastes material and leaves a long tail that has to be cut. Choose the shortest length that still gives the 25% margin.
