Nylon cable ties are classified under HS 3926.90 (other articles of plastics); PVC electrical insulation tape in rolls falls under HS 3919.10. The first six digits are the same in all countries that use the Harmonized System; the national code after them differs by country and is confirmed by the importer's customs broker. HS 3926.90 (other articles of plastics). A UK advance tariff ruling for nylon cable ties 4.8 mm wide and 380 mm long (ruling 600014659, valid 12 February 2026 to 11 February 2029) classifies them under commodity code 3926909790.
HS 3919.10 (self-adhesive plastic tape in rolls up to 20 cm wide). In the US tariff schedule, electrical tape has its own statistical line, 3919.10.20.20. The national 8- or 10-digit code also depends on the adhesive type, so confirm it with your customs broker.
The 6-digit HS code (3926.90 for cable ties, 3919.10 for tape). The full national code of the import country is chosen by the importer or its customs broker, because only they are responsible for the import declaration. On request we also print the national code your broker confirms.
